What Is A Line Of Improvement In Vision Therapy?
In this video I explain how we measure visual acuity improvement to help you understand what it means when I say "2 or 3 lines of improvement".
Remember, unlike the traditional approach of testing out lenses, we approach care intending to improve acuity without prosthetics or aids like lenses ie. Our goal is to improve vision the way nature intended, by helping your eyes and brain actually see better.

I used the computer without glasses for awhile. At some point my eyes did get too weak to read the computer. I can't remember what age I had to finally wear glasses using the computer.

    • @visontherapy
      @visontherapy 5 дней назад

      Hi Mia, This Depends. What’s the prism orientation? BO (base out) prism 30 near and 5 distance is convergence excess or esotropia. BI (base in) prism 30 near and 5 distance would be possibly convergence insufficiency but technically it could be exotropia also

    I think you missed the point. Me myself and a lot of people as me, would give every money to change our condition (I mean healthy eyes) and we would definitely sacrifice and dedicate everything to achieve our goals. But in the back of our heads is that thought that in the end of the day you might have end up with empty wallet and no satisfying results. And that’s the point.

    I'm a bit of a weird case. My eyes don't look misaligned (no visible strabismus from looking at pictures of me, or at least it's not obvious), but in certain angles I have to close one eye to see correctly. For instance, when I'm shaving and looking at the mirror, when I turn my head to the right and try to look left I always have to close my right eye to avoid double vision. But when it's the reverse (turning my head to the left and looking right) I don't have that problem. In other situations, though, it's more the left eye that I tend to close a bit. Such as when looking at my laptop, I generally lay down to the left (not sure how to describe it better, English isn't my first language) and avoid double vision by kind of holding the cheek near my left eye, which seems to balance my vision. And the double vision definitely gets worse at close range, when looking at screens, or when my eyes are tired. Independently (when the other eye is closed), though, I can turn either eye in any direction (upwards, downards, inwards, outwards) without any double vision. Does that mean it's likely more of a coordination problem than a problem with either eye? Convergence insufficiency looks a lot like what I have, but what bugs me is the asymmetry (the double vision tends to be worse when looking to the left), which is never described as a symptom of convergence insufficiency from what I've gathered. Would love to know your thoughts.

    About 10 years ago, I woke up and started seeing a double. The doctor said it was a migraine. My eyes was straight. But for about 2 years my right eye started to run inside, the left is healthy, in the right there is a defect -0.75. It was found to be an adult's strabismus. And I'm afraid it's something else. How to convince doctors to further examination? brain scan? feels that I am not taken seriously.

    My new eye doctor just diagnosed me with nystagmus a few weeks ago, but I've had symptoms my whole life, so he suggested it might be congenital. He was surprised that none of my doctors said anything before because it's so obvious just by watching my eyes for a few seconds. The main reason I don't play sports is because it's hard to track things, and it gets worse in the dark. I've gotten several injuries and am just clumsy in general because I can't track things and have trouble focusing on things. I'm starting vision therapy soon, so hopefully it will get better! Thanks for making videos so I can learn more about my condition! ❤

    I already had surgery twice. Once in the 90's, and once in 2021, unfortunately the second surgery did not stick nearly as long and that doctor no longer accepts my insurance so I had to see someone else who decided to try prisms instead of a 3rd surgery to see how they would work for me. As I am on Idaho Medicaid, I don't think we have adult vision therapy here, and even if we did, there is no way Medicaid would even pay for it when they only pay for vision if you have certain conditions such as in the realm of diabetes, strabismus (like myself), etc. The frames the even pay for are so terrible that they literally fall apart and I opted to pay $50 for a pair of glasses online instead to save myself the hassle. Vision therapy would not be something I could afford just for my extremely terrible eyesight that I've had issues with since I was 5 to come back later as I am disabled.
